Whether you stay in one of the elegant and spacious apartments inside the privately owned Tiverton Castle, which celebrated its 900th anniversary in 2006, or in Castle Barton or Castle Lodge elsewhere within the grounds, you can imagine yourself in another life. The apartments are found in the main Castle building, two approached by a 17th Century well staircase (you can rest on the way up!). Inside the Grade I Listed Castle walls, it is hard to believe that you are in the centre of the old market town of Tiverton. Part of the 14th Century castle is open to the public two afternoons a week in summer and fishing can be arranged in the River Exe which flows through the grounds. Guests can explore not only the Castle, but also Dartmoor, Exmoor and both the north and south Devon coasts, all within easy driving distance.

On the second floor and also with sloping ceilings and exposed beams, Upper East Court is charming. The rooms are light and airy and this is an elegant, well-equipped apartment. *A cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot.
