So-called because of its wonderful view across Coverack bay towards the infamous Manacles – a cluster of rocks that has destroyed many a vessel in days past – this modern little terraced cottage is set high on the cliffs at the edge of the village within the grounds of the former Coverack Headland Hotel, now converted into several well appointed apartments and accessed by a private road. The immediate coastline is spectacular, just above Chynhalls Point (in the photograph) which is owned by the National Trust, with the coastal path nearby. The surrounding eight acres of land for guests’ use include a tennis court, extensive lawns and a footpath leading to a small beach which is sandy at low tide. Inside the cottage, the accommodation being reversed to take full advantage of the view, the large open plan living-room upstairs is carpeted in pale green, with pine furniture, comfortable sofas and a well-equipped kitchen-area with oak-fronted cabinets. The Manacles also has its own private terrace and small garden to the rear, accessed through sliding glass doors from one of the ground floor bedrooms.
