Found in a natural harbour on the south side of Torbay, Brixham is a bustling little fishing town. Perched high up above the harbour in one of the very narrow streets, is Provident Cottage. There are super views from the sitting/dining-room and double bedroom over the harbour and bay beyond (see photograph). An exposed stone wall in the large sitting/dining-room, with two old ornamental fireplaces and a huge beam in the ceiling, give a feel of the seafaring days gone by. The bedrooms, reached by stairs from the sitting/dining-room, are equally delightful with mellow pine furniture and ornamental Victorian fireplaces adding character. There is a patio-area in front of the house and a small steep terraced garden to the rear with the parking bay at the top. There are lots of steep, stone steps down to the back door which are, unfortunately, not at all practical for toddlers or the elderly. There are a wealth of beaches and rocky coves nearby, as well as Torquay and Paignton.
