Description

Halliggye is tucked away down a private drive in the beautiful Cornish countryside just two miles from the picturesque Helford River, providing an ideal base for exploring the sandy beaches, coves and coastal paths of this lovely part of Cornwall. This attractive detached farmhouse is well over 300 years old, and although extensively modernised still retains some of its original features, such as old pine doors and the wooden panelling between the dining-room and the sitting-room, where comfortable sofas face the attractive Victorian fireplace. Upstairs, the double bedroom has an en suite shower-room and the family bathroom boasts a double shower cubicle as well as a bath. All three tastefully furnished bedrooms overlook the pretty enclosed garden – where swings and the well-equipped games-room offer plenty of entertainment for all the family and the patio is perfect for al fresco meals or watching the children play. The cottage stands across the lane from the farmyard which sees little use during the summer months, and the local pub and a well-stocked shop are just ten minutes’ walk down the lane into the village of Newtown-in-St Martin.
