Located in the heart of picture perfect Lerryn, Sweet Briar Cottage is an absolute beauty. Lovingly and impeccably presented, this 150 year old cottage is the epitome of country chic, with restful shades enhancing original features to create a warm and welcoming feel.

The garden is equally charming; enjoy leisurely breakfasts and relaxing suppers on the terrace, or simply grab a pew and watch the comings and goings of life on the river.

Add to the mix a magical setting, said to be the inspiration of Kenneth Graham's Wind in the Willows, a tidal river, with stepping stones and wild birds to delight, wooded valley walks, a village shop and traditional pub, and you have the perfect recipe for a very special holiday.

Step over the threshold of Sweet Briar Cottage and the stresses and strains of everyday life will simply drift away.

In the cosy sitting-room, comfortable sofas sit around the original fireplace, now home to a toasty wood-burner. Two steps lead down to the kitchen/dining-room; a wonderfully light and airy room with wonderful views over the woodland beyond. Just off the kitchen is the downstairs shower-room, and the first double bedroom leads off from the sitting-room. With a gorgeous bedstead, adorned with beautiful linens complementing the exposed beams and the original cloam oven, this downstairs bedroom is simply beautiful. Enjoying views over the garden, the twin bedroom and main bedroom are on the first floor, along with a super stylish second shower-room.

Dare to leave this idyllic haven, well, there are even more treats to discover. The area is a walkers' paradise, so don't forget your boots, and plant enthusiasts will have their fill at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery and the world-renowned Eden Project.

Take to the water and head downstream to fashionable Fowey, or try your hand at more water sports in Polkerris. There are antique and vintage shops to delight in Lostwithiel, along with an ancient castle, and for more Cornish heritage Lanhydrock House and Parkland are a must!
