Set in a fabulous location directly above Trevaunance Cove in St Agnes, The Hygge looks out across the cove and along the rugged coast. Ideally placed for watching everything from breathtaking sunsets, superb surfing action or blustery storm-tossed waves to exuberant village gatherings such as the Easter charity dog races and the Christmas Day swim (no wetsuits permitted!). The Hygge is a wonderfully welcoming semi-detached retreat which is perfect for families, friends and couples alike. The sitting-room has comfortable sofas and a contemporary wood-burner, the Shaker-style kitchen/dining-room has a big island unit and a farmhouse table perfect for long, leisurely meals and the three bedrooms share a stylishly fitted bathroom. With parking on the private lane right outside, a secluded private garden and a further low-walled, cliff-side garden (children must be supervised here) shared with just three other cottages, you may find it difficult to tear yourself away. If you do feel adventurous there are lots of activities right on the doorstep. The coastal footpath passes the cottage door so walkers can step out and explore the fabulous coastline and sandy coves of the glorious Atlantic coast. Surfers, sandcastle builders and beachcombers can stroll down to the beach, and surf lessons, kayak hire and orienteering are all available locally.

The Hygge suits holidays in all seasons, with barbecues in the garden on sunny summer evenings and toasting toes in front of the wood-burner on blustery winter days. St Agnes is a thriving village with great pubs, bars and bistros, art galleries, a village bakery (for the all-important pasties!) and a renowned local surf shop. The famous Driftwood Spars Hotel is down the lane from the cottage, offering a quintessentially local pub atmosphere in the bars and great dining opportunities in the seafood restaurant. Schooners, on the beach, has rave reviews for showcasing craft beers and locally-sourced food, with possibly the best sea views in the area. The Taphouse wine bar and Taste bistro are not to be missed and all the local pubs offer excellent pub food. Out and about you'll find footpaths galore to explore along the glorious Atlantic clifftops and five outstanding beaches within 10 miles at Perranporth, Trevaunance Cove, Chapel Porth, Porthtowan and Portreath. This is a vibrant and dramatically scenic area to explore and The Hygge is a wonderful place to return to each day to relax and enjoy holiday time together.
