This six-bedroomed farmhouse, dating back to the 16th Century, has been renovated to a really high standard with a brand new kitchen and brand new bathrooms. This exceptionally flexible property has a second kitchen/breakfast-room, sitting-room with wood-burning stove, dining-room, three double bedrooms (one is a family room), two twin bedrooms, a single bedroom, a shower-room and two bathrooms. The fully enclosed gardens are beautiful with large level lawns and plenty of privacy. The Owners live on site but are perfectly in tune with ensuring that their guests enjoy the peace here. You will see their lovely cattle and sheep in the fields. There are two other cottages at the farm but only the large play area in the meadow next to the farmstead and the lake, out of sight at the bottom of the hill, are shared.
This really is the perfect place for an extended family, two families holidaying together or a group of friends celebrating a special occasion. The detached farmhouse is to one side of the farmstead at Greendown with its dedicated enclosed gardens wrapped around two sides. Two of the large double bedrooms work well as family rooms. One of these bedrooms has a five foot double and a single. The other links a double bedroom (Bedroom 6 ) with a single bedroom (Bedroom 5 ) which is down a couple of steps and these two rooms can be accessed via their own turning staircase from the second kitchen/breakfast-room. As the farmhouse has two staircases, you can go through Bedrooms 6 and 5 and join the main landing with all the other bedrooms or you can keep them separate, along with their own bathroom if you prefer. The two bathrooms are on the first floor and the shower-room is on the ground floor. What an adventure children will have exploring this farmhouse – let alone the garden and play field. The nearest village is Chittlehampton, just under two miles away. There is a lovely, very family-friendly pub there serving great food – The Bell – as well as a village shop. The nearest little market town is South Molton, just four miles away. Here you will find a range of independent shops, a supermarket and better still a weekly pannier market where you can choose from some excellent local produce. Bring back some goodies and enjoy a great family barbecue in the garden with the super-size gas barbecue. For gorgeous beaches head for Instow (this beach is dog-friendly all year round), Saunton Sands for seemingly endless space and great surfing, Croyde and Woolacombe. To the west the coast becomes more and more dramatic with cliffs and rocky coves and a stunning stretch of the South West Coast Path leading from Clovelly, around Hartland Point and on into Cornwall.

There is a fenced fishing lake at the farm; please don't let children go exploring on their own. Parents are asked to supervise their children on the trampoline in the shared play area at all times. As this is an old house there are some internal steps, please take care. The main stairs from the entrance hall access Bedrooms 1 to 4, and Bathroom 1; the turning staircase from the Kitchen/Breakfast-room leads to Bedroom 6, Bathroom 2 and through this room there's access to Bedroom 5.
