Withypool is at the heart of the beautiful Exmoor National Park and Riverview has a wonderful elevated village position with panoramic views of the River Barle below and the open moorland beyond. This period stone semi-detached cottage has been renovated with exceptional style and character, a perfect combination. The sitting-room at the front of the cottage has a wood-burner and gorgeous views. There is a large open plan kitchen/dining-room with a side door to the little path down the side of the cottage, so no need to worry about muddy boots and paws! There is a lovely open area to sit out at the front and from the back door, stone steps lead up to an enclosed garden.
Stone floors in the kitchen/dining-room make this a very practical place to stay with a dog and the sitting-room could not be cosier on a blustery Exmoor day. Riverview’s two double bedrooms are both an excellent size and they share a lovely bathroom which has a bath as well as a separate shower so you can choose to have a luxurious soak after a day out exploring the unspoilt moorland and its hidden valleys. The village has a fabulous shop, a seasonal tea room with the most delicious home-made cakes to indulge in, and a popular and friendly pub. Over the bridge, by the side of the river there is a lovely picnic-area which is popular with families as the water is clear and shallow (but do supervise children at all times). All these are just a short stroll from the cottage.
