Shepherd's Huts were used in bygone days for shepherds to shelter whilst watching their sheep and that's exactly what you can do when staying at the delightful We Two Shepherd's Hut – as the Owners' rare breed sheep graze in the paddocks around you. Situated down a quiet country lane in a tranquil and unspoilt part of south east Cornwall, this really is the perfect getaway for people who love peaceful countryside and enjoy being at one with nature but the interiors of bygone days have been replaced with quality craftsmanship, exceptional detail, and the ultimate in luxury and comfort. The bespoke fitted kitchen, with the most tactile of work surfaces, is a delight – and even doing the dishes will be a pleasure when you enjoy views down to the woodland below! The comfiest of beds donned with luxurious linens will provide the perfect night's sleep, and in the daytime this transforms into a cosy seating and dining area, and should you need any more comfort the Owners have provided gorgeous Manx sheepskins to snuggle up with. Knick-knacks surround, with a nod to the rural setting, and the cutest of wood-burners will keep you toasty whatever the weather. Because this is glamping, there's also a stylish en suite shower-room which has plenty of hot water, a wash-basin and that all essential flushing toilet. A welcoming cream tea awaits you on arrival.
Outside, a miscellany of vintage artefacts including a horse gig and old fashioned bicycle complement the heritage of the Hut and these have been skilfully set amidst potted plants, a beehive-shaped boot store – too cute, a little summer-house and a fabulous 21st Century hot tub! Cooking will be a real camping experience as you light up the fire-pit and put the Dutch oven to work, or why not simply toast the odd marshmallow or two and then relax, sit back and listen to the song birds and as night draws in take time to enjoy a spot of stargazing. Although located off the beaten track, there is much to explore on your doorstep and further afield. In the woodlands below, idyllic circular walks through the Owners' 24 acres of woodlands and paddocks are perfect for nature spotting, as they take you down through the trees and along the valley. Garden lovers will be enthralled by The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Garden House at Buckland Monachorum, and historians will savour the splendour of the houses of Lanhydrock and Cotehele. Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor, with their breathtaking scenery, offer endless miles of spectacular walks and, if you are after coastal pleasure, the charming harbour towns of Looe and Fowey on the south coast and the dramatic surfing beaches of the north coasts are within easy reach.
