Cherry Blossom is a dream, found in a peaceful meadow bordered by a babbling stream less than five miles from the historic city of Exeter and really easy to reach. This gorgeous shepherd's hut is beautifully finished with oak fittings, a bed to die for and top-quality furnishings throughout - it is a triumph of design in a small space and very comfortable. The little wood-burner will throw out the heat, making it wonderfully toasty whatever the time of year, and there is an oil-filled radiator for the cooler months too. The well-equipped kitchen includes a sink, two-ring hob, fridge, toaster and kettle, and there is even a flat screen TV with DVD player - perfect for cosy nights in - and handy WiFi provided. The bed, which can be cleverly pushed up into the wall (linen and all!) during the daytime to reveal the dining-area, is heaven - sink into a deep mattress with fresh cotton linen and wake up to the sounds of the dawn chorus. The stylish shower-room includes hot and cold running water and a proper flushing loo - luxury glamping at its best! Many an hour can be spent outside here too, enjoying quality time together in the stunning surroundings - there is even an enclosed area so your four-legged friend can join you. Why not cook up yummy meal on the barbecue and dine al fresco at the lovely picnic table or have a little paddle in the stream. Also nestled in this pretty meadow is Cherry Blossom's sister Apple Blossom, although both have their own separate entrances and are very private from each other.
Although found in a lovely rural location, there is so much to see and do within striking distance of this wonderful retreat. For eating out, the pretty village of Kenn is just a five minute walk away and has a renowned pub, the Ley Arms, serving delicious food. If you jump in the car, a five minute drive will take you to the village of Kenton where there are a few eateries on offer, including a Chinese restaurant and takeaway. For picking up the essentials, the friendly family-run shop and Post Office in Kennford is open seven days a week from early until late and, for local and artisan products, there are plenty of regular farmers' markets - Exeter and Ashburton to name a couple. If it's a bit of retail therapy you're after, the historic Cathedral City Of Exeter is well worth a visit and is really easy to access too - there is a park and ride station just under a 10 minute drive away, with buses to and from the city every 10 minutes. For avid walkers, Dartmoor is within a 20 minute drive away, for golfers both the Exeter and Exminster golf clubs are close by and the Owners even have bikes available for hire. For days out, the magnificent Powderham Castle is located in a unique, picturesque setting beside the Exe Estuary just five miles away and often holds events such as food festivals. There are also beaches within easy reach - Dawlish Warren, Teignmouth and Dawlish are all under 10 miles away and perfect for bucket and spade days. Beautiful Canonteign Falls (England's highest manmade waterfall!) is around 15 minutes away and great fishing is available at nearby Kennick Reservoir. Overall, this is just the place to wind down, kick off the strains of daily life and enjoy a completely relaxing break in a lovely part of the world.
