Swallow Barn
2424 is no longer with usIf you were looking for cottages like Swallow Barn, how about trying these:
Lydford is one of Dartmoor’s special places, because of its spectacular gorge, managed by the National Trust, a small castle, actually a 13th Century prison, and the old church of St Petrock’s. Swallow Barn is a beautiful detached house set in grounds of over two acres and surrounded by farmland. Spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated with travertine marble floors, squishy sofas and a double-sided wood-burner giving warmth to the sitting-room and kitchen/diner, the house is a real joy. Upstairs are three bedrooms and under-floor heating (powered by an air-source heat pump) warms both floors. The Owners are keen conservationists and are turning the natural garden into a wildlife haven with a small pond and a stream (take care with children) and there are patio areas around the house. As well as offering access to the moor, Swallow Barn is ideal for trips into Cornwall and the coastline of north and south Devon. The Granite Way cycle path is close by and the town of Tavistock is worth a visit.
