This attractively converted semi-detached barn, part of a tranquil little rural hamlet once forming the Newham Barton farmstead, lies only a short drive from Porthleven’s picturesque harbour and quayside pubs, shops and restaurants. Set just outside the historic town of Helston, gateway to the spectacular Lizard peninsula and famous for its annual Flora Day, the cottage is also within easy reach of several sandy beaches, the coastal footpath’s breathtaking scenery, and the Helford River’s beautiful wooded creeks. Originally the stable for the farm’s gentle giants, Shirehorse Barn has a large sunny enclosed garden bordered by sloping flowerbeds, and a gravelled patio (please take care near the low unfenced retaining wall). Inside, the open plan living-room has wireless broadband, cosy under-floor heating, two comfy sofas and an armchair, and a cream fitted kitchen with beech worktops. Although the cottage accommodates four guests only, upstairs are three bedrooms to choose from; there is also a small balcony with lovely views across the garden (please take care with children). This property has a private water supply, regularly tested.
