Approached down a lane, set in an idyllic country estate where spring flowers are a particular delight and surrounded by open countryside, seemingly untouched by time, Trewane Cottage is an attractive, detached, 17th Century family house. It overlooks a stream-fed millpool (please take care with children) and has its own enclosed garden. The Owners live nearby in Trewane Manor, the main house on the estate, where Charles II is reputed to have sheltered in 1646. Trewane Mill (751) and Trewane Barn (2243) are also situated nearby. Traditionally furnished, the south-facing sitting/dining-room has a large open granite fireplace and a regularly tuned upright piano. The well-equipped farmhouse kitchen, furnished in pine, together with a spacious utility-room cater very comfortably for family life. Upstairs the bedrooms are prettily furnished in country-house style, three with limed-oak vanity units and all having low leaded windows to take full advantage of the panoramic views. The wide open sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath are close by, whilst there are also many spectacular coastal walks. There is enjoyable cycling locally, including the Camel Trail, and a lockable bicycle shed is provided.
