Description

Approached along a leafy farm lane with birdsong drifting from neighbouring 50 acre Carrine Common, this beautifully appointed, single-storey detached cottage feels enchantingly rural. The private, south-facing garden is enclosed by wind-sculpted oaks and Cornish stone hedges and houses an ancient well (locked for safety). Surprisingly though, this rebuilt barn is just over two miles from the restaurants, bars, galleries and shops of the Cathedral City of Truro and only seven miles from the dramatic cliff-lines and surfing beaches northwards, and meandering creeks and tidal moorings of the Roseland peninsula southwards. Sara’s Cottage is a lovely central base, with an en suite double bedroom separated from the other bedrooms and family bathroom by the slate-floored, open plan living-room. Soft gold sofas with plenty of cushions and a welcoming wood-burner entice you to relax, while the cream Shaker-style kitchen-area is a pleasure to use. Level access and wide doorways make the property wheelchair-friendly, and each room has French doors to the sun-trap patio and garden, perfect for unwinding with a book, a drink or an afternoon snooze. A kennel is available if you wish to visit dog-free attractions, and horses can be accommodated by prior arrangement.
