Middle Woodley is an enchanting house hidden down narrow tree-lined lanes in rural Devon. The main house dates back to the 16th Century and one end has been converted into welcoming Little Woodley. Although adjoining the main house, it is quite separate with its own entrance, small patio and raised garden. Step down through the stable-door into the kitchen/diner, a mixture of modern and slightly retro design, in a chic mix of red and cream. The sitting-room is just as lovely with a leather sofa and wing back chair framing the inglenook fireplace and wood-burner – ideal for off-season breaks. The original staircase is steep and narrow (the cottage is not suitable for young children or the elderly), but upstairs the Owner’s love of vintage linens and fabrics is evident in the charmingly furnished bedrooms. Even the bathroom is in keeping with a roll-top bath and a shower. There is also wireless broadband. Little Woodley is a real gem and guests will want to visit again and again.
