Follow the country lanes into the east Devon hills and there, in the heart of this rural idyll, lies Wadsbury Cottage, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and commanding truly breathtaking countryside views south towards the sea at Lyme Bay. A short drive from the spectacular coastline at Branscombe, picturesque Beer or Lyme Regis’ sandy beach, this little single-storey, detached cottage stands next to the Owners’ farmhouse, but is not overlooked by it. The spacious double bedroom and the smaller twin room, each with a bathroom or shower-room, are separated by the cosy open plan living-room. The sunny patio overlooks the beautiful garden, with a large area for guests’ use, and which has views towards the sea shimmering in the distance. (The Owners’ private area of the garden includes two unfenced ponds which are out of bounds for guests.) The market towns of Axminster, Chard, and Honiton – well-known for its antiques shops and tea-rooms – are all within easy reach, and Exeter is a half-hour drive away.
