Tavistock is a lovely old Devon town, a real mixture of old and the new, with some interesting shops and the busy Pannier market – why not browse the stalls for that special memento, or sample some of the gorgeous jams and cakes when the WI are in town? On the outskirts of Tavistock, on the Plymouth road, are several properties termed locally as Bedford Cottages. Built in the early 1900s, these small terraces run at right angles to the main road behind high hedges. Westbridge Cottage is on the end of the last terrace (neighbours have a right of way past the cottage) with a small patio opposite the front door. There is a modern ivory kitchen leading into the stylish sitting/dining-room. Upstairs (take care on the steep stairs) are the bedrooms and a cleverly designed bathroom. With several good restaurants, pubs and shops within walking distance and the moors just down the road, where better for an enjoyable stay in Devon? *A cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot.
