Description

St Ives needs little or no introduction. Famous not only for its winding streets, attractive harbour (see photograph) and fabulous beaches, but also its long association with many well-known artists, amply illustrated by the Tate gallery which overlooks St Ives Bay. Barnabas Cottage is one of a collection of fishermen’s cottages, thought to date back to the 17th Century. This stunning compact cottage has been renovated to the highest standard. Solid oak floors run throughout the ground floor and leather sofas flank the electric stove in the stylish open plan living-room; a beautiful Shaker-style kitchen-area and dining-area provide the setting for a family meal. From here, steep stairs lead up to the two beautiful bedrooms, a separate WC and luxurious shower-room with a double shower. Barnabas Cottage is tucked away down a narrow side street, yet only 60 yards from the beach and within a short walk of Porthminster Beach and its renowned Porthminster Cafe. An evening’s amble along the promenade will be the perfect end to a perfect day.
