St Ives needs little or no introduction. Famous for its cobbled streets, harbour and fabulous beaches, it is also known for its long association with artists. Barnabas Cottage, one of a group of fishermen’s cottages thought to date back to the 17th Century, has been renovated to the highest standard. Solid oak floors run throughout the stylish open plan living-room, the Shaker-style kitchen and dining-area providing the setting for family meals. Steep stairs lead up to the bedrooms, shower-room and separate WC. The private parking space is half a mile away up a small hill; the cottage itself is tucked down a narrow side street just 60 yards from the beach – perfect for an evening amble along the promenade.
St Ives has a wide selection of galleries, shops, pubs and restaurants, all within easy walking distance of Barnabas Cottage – as are the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Tate St Ives. The fabulous Porthminster Beach and its renowned and very popular cafe (you will have to book!) are only a few minutes' stroll away.
