Dating from the 1870s, Jasmine Cottage lies in a tranquil wooded valley down a long bumpy unmade track (low suspension vehicles take care). With just two neighbours, this charming retreat has a sunny enclosed garden with a patio and gently sloping lawn, and a dramatic view of the privately owned disused viaduct nearby. French doors lead into a spacious kitchen/dining-room with colour-washed units and a large farmhouse table. Two steps take you into the comfortable sitting-room where relaxing sofas face the wood-burner, two more steps leading to the shower-room, utility-room and a little ‘den’ for younger children. Upstairs (mind the step on the landing) three individually furnished bedrooms, with colourful rugs complementing the wood-effect floors, all overlook the garden.
