Bedford Cottage is a pretty cottage dating from around 1900, found in the quaintly-named village of Buckland Monachorum. Divided into two spacious properties, the Owner lives next door but guests will be quite private. With a lovely sunny garden, this cottage will appeal to anyone wanting to explore Dartmoor with a comfortable, stylish cottage to return to at the day’s end. The cosy sitting-room has a Regency striped sofa and an ornamental fireplace. The large kitchen/diner has a wood-burner effect gas stove for cooler days, and two steps down to a utility-room with plenty of storage for those holiday treats. Upstairs (take care on the narrow staircase) are two bedrooms and a large bathroom. Buckland Monachorum has a good pub and walks direct onto the moor. Tavistock is a busy town and, as well as having one or two excellent restaurants and some interesting shops, there is a lively daily Pannier market.
