Having wiggled through Brixham’s narrow streets, you might wonder where you will end up, but do not worry, Driftwood is worth it! This modern, three-storey, detached house is built into the side of the hill overlooking Brixham and Torbay (the fifth house in from the left in the top row of cottages, painted terracotta). The open plan living-room has large picture windows giving panoramic sea views. Patio doors open onto a balcony (take care with children) which enjoys the setting sun, with steps leading to another terrace below. The ground floor master bedroom has great views and upstairs are two twin bedrooms and another bathroom. Brixham is a bustling, interesting town, and with this bird’s eye view you can watch the activities of boats below. Fresh fish is landed on the quay, so why not try out some of those special recipes, or take a boat around to Dartmouth for lunch in one of the many restaurants? There is also easy access, albeit steep, to the coast path.
