Artists once flocked to this area of Cornwall, where the ever-changing light is unique. Approached through a wooded valley, Tregurnow Farm, set high above Lamorna Cove with its dramatic cliffs (see photograph), has distant sea views. Together with The Owls’ House (2060), these two contemporary barn conversions are furnished to a high standard, with solid oak floors, south-facing balconies (take care with children) and neutral decor throughout. Walks are abundant, and a good pub and excellent restaurant a stroll across fields. Set around a communal courtyard, there is a lawned play-area, perfect for youngsters to let off steam whilst adults can watch from the balcony or terrace above which has steps down to the lawn.

Forbes’ Retreat is named after the artist Stanhope Forbes, who studied at nearby Newlyn. Neighbouring Munnings’ Barn, the property again has a family bedroom and the added luxury of an outdoor hot tub. Please note the lower rent band does not apply for holidays beginning on or between 25 June to 16 September and is only applicable for parties of 5 + cot or less.
