Description

Aveton, found in a gorgeous valley a few miles from the south Devon coast, is set within 134 acres of rolling farmland (some grazing so take care around livestock). Part of the original farmhouse dates back centuries, but over the years rooms and extensions have been added, resulting in this spacious and contemporary home. Furnished with real flair, Aveton will linger in the memory long after your holiday. A farmhouse-style kitchen/diner with a double oven Aga (the main cooking appliance although a combination microwave is provided), will no doubt prove the heart of the home. French doors lead from here out to the terrace, which has marvellous valley views. There is also a dining-room and steps down from an inner hall to two living-rooms, both with under-floor heating. These offer something for everyone – home cinema and satellite television in the sitting-room, whilst for peace and quiet the drawing-room is comfortably furnished. Upstairs, the landing (take care with the step) has an open vaulted ceiling and three of the lovely bedrooms have their own bathroom or shower-room. The South Hams has much to offer but guests may not want to venture far; there is an indoor heated swimming pool close to the house (children under 16 must be accompanied at all times), with glazed doors to take in the views. With a small gym, a games-room and extensive woodland and riverside walks (take care with toddlers), as well as fishing rights by arrangement, why go anywhere else? The farm cat visits occasionally but the cat flap can be locked to keep him out. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
