The view from Rumps Ahead is astounding. Across the fields from this fabulous detached single-storey barn conversion, the sea view is framed by ‘The Rumps’ headland and Doyden Castle on the cliffs. The friendly Owners farm the surrounding land, bordered by the coast path, and guests can walk along the clifftops to Port Isaac or down to the cove at Port Quin. While the surf calls from Polzeath, at Rumps Ahead a cosy sofa, a multi-burner and a double-ended bath await; no expense spared, glamorous and indulgent, this cottage provides a taste of another lifestyle. The Owners’ 14th Century manor house (occasionally a wedding venue or film location), farm buildings and other holiday cottages are nearby.
Rumps Ahead enjoys a private setting, with a garden which is partially walled and where a ha-ha ensures open views out across the medieval pond. For first or second honeymoons, Rumps Ahead is the perfect spot. Due to the stunning location please be aware that depending on your mobile provider you may not have a mobile signal – as you are on holiday this may be a good thing! However if you need WiFi access there is a great cafe in Port Isaac where you can connect for free.
