Elegant proportions and wonderful views are the keynotes of River Knowle, a rambling and comfortable semi-detached Victorian house, set in large sloping gardens in Northam, on the edge of Bideford. Guests’ gasps at the spacious approach and entrance will be echoed at the vista of the Torridge estuary, enjoyed from the sitting-room, dining-room and front bedrooms. Short flights of stairs punctuate the accommodation, set on three floors – children will love the high ceiling of the second floor bedroom approached by a narrow staircase (not suitable for the elderly or young children). A balcony opens out from the first floor bedrooms (please take care with children) so that guests can feel part of the view. Bustling Bideford with its antique shops, restaurants and ferry to Lundy Island is nearby, while the Tarka Trail beckons from across the Torridge Bridge – cycle to Torrington, Barnstaple or pretty Instow with its galleries and beach and be sure of a relaxed and comfortable base to return to. A second cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
