The coastline surrounding Hartland, including spectacular Hartland Point, is wild and rugged with sandy beaches and coves at low tide. Bracing clifftop walks are a must, and with Lundy Island not far away the views can be stunning. Just a mile or so inland lies Owlets, an appealing, peaceful retreat for two, set on the edge of the Owners’ large gardens. The reversed accommodation includes a particularly spacious ground floor bedroom (double or twin) with a door to the shared garden, where guests can use the Owners’ open-air heated swimming pool (available 23 May to 26 September – please supervise children at all times). The narrow staircase leads to the open plan eaved ceilinged living-room (tall folk beware). The kitchen-area leads out to the south-facing balcony, ideal for an evening drink whilst enjoying the panoramic views. The cottage has a private water supply (regularly tested).
