The north Devon coastline has long been recognised as one of the most magnificent stretches of cliff and beaches in the South West. Woolacombe Beach has over four miles of golden sands and is only three miles from these two charming semi-detached cottages. The Owners live next door in the main house at Buttercombe Barton, but guests will be very private. Set in some 18 acres of lovely grounds, guests are welcome to explore but do take care with children around the wildlife ponds and small stream. The Owners also keep chickens, as well as friendly Springer spaniels – sure to be a hit with the children. In addition to the sandy beaches and bracing clifftop walks, Exmoor is close by. Enjoy a day exploring the sweeping hills and wooded valleys, returning to the welcome of Buttercombe Barton in the evening. These cottages have a private water supply, which is tested regularly.

Swallow Cottage started life as a barn but is now a very comfortable home. With reversed accommodation, all three bedrooms and the family bathroom (the master bedroom having its own en suite shower-room) are on the ground floor. Upstairs, the living-room is most attractive with wood flooring and deep navy furniture inviting you to relax. The kitchen units are a softer blue and complement the pine table and chairs. There is a large enclosed, walled garden (see photograph) that enjoys the sun for most of the day, and is ideal for a summer barbecue.
