With fabulous beaches at Porthcurnick (see photograph), Pendower and Carne all within a few minute’s drive from this beautiful barn conversion, you will be spoilt for choice. The National Trust manages the coastline along this stretch of the Roseland peninsula, ensuring easy access, ample parking and well-kept coastal footpaths. The picturesque sailing town of St Mawes, a charming mix of pubs, restaurants, shops and galleries, is close by and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and beautiful Caerhays Castle are also within an easy drive. One of a courtyard of three detached stone cottages, Pendower Barn has its own lawned garden and patio-area. Exposed beams and wooden floors inside give a rustic feel, and the decor throughout is light and neutral with touches of warming colour. The bathroom and two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, while the gallery bedroom is accessed via a staircase from the kitchen-area (beware of the sloping ceiling!). Comfortable mattresses and crisp white linens enhance the bedrooms, and soft leather sofas flank a contemporary wood-burner in the open plan, broadband-enabled sitting-area, helping you relax in toasty warmth.
