Pendower Barn is a five minute drive down the hill to one of the best beaches in the county, the National Trust’s Porthcurnick Beach (see photograph). A walk from the sands takes you to the pretty village of Portscatho in one direction, or to stunning views from the headland in the other. The picturesque town of St Mawes, with its abundance of pubs, restaurants, shops and galleries, is close by and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and beautiful Caerhays Castle are also within an easy drive. One of a courtyard of three cottages, the garden, enclosed by post and rail fencing, overlooks open fields. This detached barn conversion has exposed beams and wooden floors, and is decorated throughout in light, bright colours. The bathroom and two of the bedrooms, fresh in lilac and cream, are on the ground floor, whilst the pretty main bedroom in pink and white is galleried above the open plan living-room (mind your head on the sloping ceiling). The sofas are soft dark chocolate leather, and the kitchen is fully fitted with a high cantilevered ceiling.
