Description

This idyllic, Dartmoor, single-storey country cottage, formerly a roundhouse, is found down a narrow, bumpy lane and set amongst woods, streams and wildflower meadows. Approached by crossing a little ford running across the lane from the pretty pond, this is the epitome of a rural retreat with only the Owners and their horses for close neighbours. Challamoor Cottage, which has a sitting-out area in front, will suit anyone wanting to recharge their batteries and enjoy the wonderful moorland scenery. Guests can walk from the cottage on to the moor within minutes so bring your walking shoes and forget the car for a week. Inside, the cottage is remarkably spacious, the main bedroom in particular. The sitting-room is charming with deep green Chesterfield sofas and a warming wood-burner set in the stone and slate hearth. With a smaller second bedroom, Challamoor Cottage is ideal for friends or a couple, and will delight anyone who walks or rides. A well-behaved dog is welcome, but please take care around livestock.
