This exceptionally spacious barn conversion retains much of its original character, with the old horse engine, used for moving grain, preserved as a striking feature in the sitting-room. This lovely room has huge blue sofas facing the wood-burner in the brick and stone fireplace, wooden floors, an open beamed ceiling, a gallery, and doors leading to the sheltered patio. The kitchen/diner is equally eye-catching, and a separate sitting-room doubles as a playroom. Upstairs, the bedrooms also have exposed beams, and guests are thoughtfully provided with bathrobes and bath towels. Set within 75 acres grazed by the Owners’ livestock (home-reared pork, lamb and beef are available), there is another bonus – the heated indoor pool (available daily 10am to 7pm; please supervise children at all times), a short walk away and shared with the Owners and guests at nearby Brimbles (1479). Set deep in peaceful countryside, yet under an hour’s drive from north Devon’s beaches, The Barton Granary is perfect for an enjoyable, relaxing holiday. A second cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot. Please note the lower rent band does not apply for holidays beginning on or between 21 May to 9 September and is only applicable for parties of 4 + 2 cots or less. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
