Built in the 16th Century and bursting with charm and character throughout, Hill Cottage is a delightful little semi-detached cottage, sitting in the picturesque village of Boscastle. With wooden beams, slate shelves and floors and the odd sloping ceiling and low door frame (please mind your head), this is a terrific little getaway for families, couples, walkers and dog lovers alike who want to explore this rugged area of north Cornwall.

A gentle stroll down the hill takes you to the heart of the village with its picturesque harbour, galleries, shops, pubs, eateries and a visitor centre, but when you are ready to get away from the hustle and bustle, escape back up the hill to the calm and tranquility at Hill Cottage – it really does provide you with the best of both worlds.

Babes in arms under six months old, and children over 10 years, are welcome.

From the minute you step inside, the character of the cottage welcomes you. The cute sitting/dining-room invites you to cosy up in front of the wood-burner and the light and airy country-style kitchen is sure to inspire you to cook up the odd holiday treat. At the back of the cottage is the pretty twin bedroom, and the double bedroom with its gorgeous bedstead and bright fabrics sits above the sitting/dining-room.

Accessed up some steps is the delightful enclosed garden, a lovely spot for a morning coffee – brewed courtesy of the Nespresso machine – or to unwind at the end of the day over supper, and at the front is your own private parking space – a real bonus in Boscastle!

Boscastle makes an ideal base for further exploration. From the coastal footpath you will discover secluded coves and panoramic seascapes or head over to Tintagel and visit King Arthur's castle and the legendary Merlin Cave. You can take to the waves at Trebarwith Strand and admire the stunning scenery at Port Quin. Foodies will enjoy their fill at Nathan Outlaw's in Port Isaac and the award-winning pub at St Tudy or call into the Boscastle farm shop and cafe and enjoy all day breakfasts, lovely lunches and fabulous cakes and treats – you won't be disappointed!
