In an idyllic location, down a quiet lane just outside a pretty village and surrounded by open fields, this 18th Century cottage is well located for touring the beautiful South Hams and dramatic Dartmoor. Attached to the owners' main house, the cottage has a separate lawned garden, bordered by a stream, just across the courtyard.

Kiln Cottage is beautifully decorated throughout, and boasts some lovely authentic features including exposed stone walls, original beams and polished wood floors. The sitting-room has a comfortable sofa and armchair, and its warming wood-burner is perfect for out-of-season breaks. The shower-room is also downstairs. An original, steep, turning wooden staircase leads to the romantic bedroom with its wrought iron bedstead and vaulted ceiling.

The market town of Totnes is nearby, with river trips in season to Dartmouth. Dartington has a fine craft centre and there are sandy beaches a short drive away at Slapton and Bantham. This cottage is a truly peaceful retreat and a joy to return to after a day out exploring the area. Not only do you have the gorgeous south Devon coast within easy reach, Dartmoor is but a 10 minute drive away – for those of you who enjoy walking, this is a must.
