Birdsong will be your lasting memory from Little Leat, set in a tranquil vale in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Woodpeckers are amongst the many birds that visit the patio and small garden, while the River Lyd flows beside the lane to the cottage; fishing can sometimes be arranged. The occasional rambler may amble down the footpath which leads along the driveway, but it is very secluded. Guests can explore the surrounding fields and woodland, visit the village of Lifton or venture further to Dartmoor and beyond. Once a barn and hayloft, Little Leat is now a bright, spacious and comfortable detached retreat. Many original features are evident and, along with polished wood stairs and wooden floors in the bedrooms (please take care with toddlers), create a restful atmosphere. Leat Mill (1409) is close at hand, and the Owners live in one of the other few neighbouring houses. They provide a warm welcome to all their visitors, who return home from this unspoilt area of Devon feeling fully recharged.
