A stunning retreat is the perfect description of The Ship House, set in an acre of established gardens. This lovely detached house lies close to Porth Kidney’s magnificent sandy beach and renowned Lelant links golf course. A short walk away you will find all village amenities, including an excellent pub, shop and a railway station, where a direct train line with the most striking coastal views will take you to nearby St Ives with its galleries and restaurants. The property is spacious with many original features including wooden floors in the living areas and stone flag floors in the kitchen and kitchen/diner, where a large red Aga provides warmth and comfort during out-of-season months, making this an ideal location for a family gathering at any time of year. Two spacious sitting-rooms allow children and adults to relax, or alternatively you can enjoy a game of pool or table-tennis in the indoor games-room. A flight of stairs leads up to the four large bedrooms and luxurious family bathroom, with roll-top bath. Each bedroom has king-size or ‘zip and link’ (double or twin) beds and the master bedroom boasts an en suite bathroom, again with a roll-top bath. During the summer months you can enjoy the nearby beach or the wonderful enclosed, private garden. This is set on a number of levels with a small waterfall, two covered ponds (please take care with children), a barbecue-area, two terraces and a lawn which leads to a summer-house. If exploring is your preference there are some wonderful walks and beautiful beaches, such as Carbis Bay (see photograph) and St Ives, on your doorstep. A short drive away is Marazion, home of the magnificent St Michael’s Mount and the harbour town of Mousehole, as well as surf schools and beaches at Gwithian and Sennen. A second cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot.
