Altarnun is a pretty Cornish village, found in a quiet valley and half an hour from the north coast. Tredaule Manor Farm is perfect for all kinds of holiday; bucket and spade days out on the renowned Trebarwith Strand, or surfing at Newquay; an off-season break exploring the Eden Project or walking the nearby moors or coastal path; sample a meal at Rick Stein’s restaurant in Padstow, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen at Watergate Bay, or one of several welcoming local pubs. These three spacious cottages, all named after local rivers, are set in rolling countryside, with the Owners next door. Each has a patio and there is a communal garden behind the cottages, and a shared games-room on the top floor of the barn adjoining Ottery Barn (take care with the low lintel at the top of the stairs). Tredaule Manor Farm is wonderful – why not book all three and stay for a week or more?

What a lovely room for a family meal.

A pretty stone bridge over the De Lank river provides an ideal picnic place, and is not far from the cottage.The very spacious sitting-room.Double-glazed doors lead into the kitchen/diner and French doors go out to the patio.

In the middle of the terrace, Lynher Barn is a deceptively large property and most attractive. ‘Shabby chic’ springs to mind with the deep comfy sofas and painted furniture, but be assured there is nothing shabby about this gorgeous cottage. The sitting-room is charming and has French doors out to a patio-area. The kitchen/diner is a cook’s delight with a range cooker and up-to-the-minute appliances. Upstairs are four bedrooms, two with en suite shower-rooms and a separate family bathroom. Exterior stone steps lead from the landing to the patio. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
