East Burne Farm is down a narrow winding lane in a peaceful valley, with 14 acres of meadows and woodland, a pond and a small stream (take care with toddlers). This beautiful spot is ideal for exploring the south Devon coast and Dartmoor. The Owners live across the cobbled yard and have another cottage nearby, reached by a separate driveway, but Burne is quite private (the barn on the left in the bottom photograph). The sitting-room is most attractive with exposed stone, a suspended wood-burner and French doors to the patio and garden. Three steps lead to the kitchen/diner, furnished in a contemporary style with granite worktops, oak flooring and wooden units. Upstairs are the three bedrooms, the family-room having views over the meadows. Guests share a games-room, a play-area for younger children and a large open-air heated swimming pool (available 23 May to 12 September – please supervise children at all times). Burne is a lovely property in a very special location.
