Altarnun is a pretty Cornish village, found in a quiet valley with one of the oldest churches in the county. Half an hour from the glorious north coast, Tredaule Manor Farm is perfect for all kinds of holiday; bucket and spade days out on the renowned Trebarwith Strand, or surfing at Newquay; an off-season break exploring the Eden Project or walking the nearby moors or coastal path; maybe sample a meal at Rick Stein’s restaurant in Padstow, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen at Watergate Bay, or one of several welcoming local pubs – the choice is endless. And back home, these three spacious cottages, all named after local rivers, are set in rolling countryside, with the Owners next door. Each has a patio and as well as the communal garden behind the cottages, there is a shared games-room on the top floor of the barn adjoining Ottery Bam (take care with the low lintel at the top of the stairs). Tredaule Manor Farm is wonderful – why not book all three and stay for a week or more?

A pretty stone bridge over the De Lank river provides an ideal picnic place, and is not far from the cottage.Stairs from the ground floor lead up into the living-room.Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a meal.

Ottery Barn is on the right of the terrace and has reversed accommodation. This is a light and airy cottage with a contemporary feel and views to Dartmoor from the large window in the living-room. There are oak floors and dark leather sofas in the living-room and two pretty bedrooms on the ground floor. This is the ideal cottage for two couples or a small family. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
