Lakeside
1704 is no longer with usIf you were looking for cottages like Lakeside, how about trying these:
The Rame peninsula on the south east Cornish coast looks across the broad sweep of the Tamar estuary. Mount Edgcumbe Country Park extends to the coast and boasts a restored Tudor mansion, with formal gardens and wonderful parkland walks. A mile down the road is Lakeside, a pretty semi-detached cottage on the very edge of Millbrook Lake where the Tamar and Lyhner rivers join before meeting the sea (see photograph). Outside is a lovely enclosed garden, including a summer-house and a patio which catches the evening sun. Remarkably spacious inside, the sitting-room and dining-room, each with open fires, overlook the water, and the sparkling bright kitchen/breakfast-room has patio doors out to the garden. Upstairs are four bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom and all with water views. You can explore the nearby villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, take the Cremyll ferry across to Plymouth or venture further afield to Polperro, Fowey, the Eden Project and many more delights – you may have to come back again to see them all. This property has a private water supply (regularly tested).
