Halloween half-term in the South West 2011
There's nothing worse than being stuck inside during the school holidays, so here is some inspiration for Halloween themed things to do in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset during October half-term.
Half-term is nearly upon us and it can be difficult keeping the little ones, and not-so-little-ones, entertained when the weather leaves you less than impressed. However, what with Halloween at the end of the month, there are plenty of activities being held throughout the West Country for the last week of October.
We’ve put together a list of just a few spooky goings-on to tempt you away from your holiday cottage:
Cornwall
Lanhydrock House and Gardens have a full ghostly ‘To Do’ list, starting with a Ghost Tour on 21 October and followed throughout the week with Garden Trails and Halloween Children’s Crafts.
The Eden Project is full of ghoulish fun with its ‘HallowEden’ activities and events including the newly designed Ice Rink, Wishcraft Tent and Disco.
Pendennis Castle plays host to Halloween trails and tours from 24th October.
Devon
Crealy Adventure Park in Devon has an exclusive half-term Ghost Train to ride around the rest of its thrilling offerings of games, competitions and witchcraft.
The Big Sheep is entertaining an entire Halloween Festival with ‘Fun by Day’ and ‘Scary by Night’ things to do.
Somerset
Wookey Hole is the place to take the children in Somerset this half-term, who get in half price to the Halloween extravaganza.
Dorset
The entire county has gone to town with its Halloween Events starting between 22 October and 4th November.
