Car-free Day in Devon, Thursday 22nd September 2011
Explore Devon without your car and have a holiday that's healthier for you as well as the environment.
Carrying on from our ‘Car-less Journeys’ blog earlier in the month, and in honour of Devon County Council’s ‘Car-free Day’ this Thursday, 22nd September, we’ve put together a few examples of how to achieve a more ethical way of getting around. Save on petrol prices by replacing wheels with limbs, lose a few pounds by pushing those pedals, and help keep the roads clear by taking a field or a river instead.
Public transport deals and food and drink incentives are all part of the Sustainable Travel Campaign which supports the ‘International In Town Without My Car Day’, to encourage car-free commuting.
