You can spend your days lounging on the deck in the hot tub or exploring the beautiful gardens, peaceful and dog-friendly Fern is the perfect retreat for couples looking to relax and spend quality time together.
Fern has recently undergone a total transformation and now offers guests luxury living at it's very best. The open plan living area is a tranquil sanctuary with kitchen, dining and sitting area. A paradise of calm, it offers a cosy velvet olive hued Loaf sofa, table and chairs for intimate candlelight suppers and a fabulous, equipped kitchen with wine fridge and espresso coffee machine. This wonderful space has floor to ceiling windows facing out over a big glass-sided deck where sun loungers look across lawns to woodland and fields. There is a private hot tub, set low into the deck outside the French windows of the bedroom, with underwater lighting for nighttime dips. In keeping with the eco feel and the woodland walks, the bedroom has a beautiful bamboo bed, super-king size for added luxury. The en suite bathroom has under-floor heating, a walk-in drench-head shower, beautiful twin sinks sitting atop a polished granite plinth and an oval free-standing double-ended bath.
The surrounding five acres offer an indoor heated swimming pool, (please note, you can book a 1.5 hour session per day at the swimming pool, the system is explained in the property), a gym and woodland walks, an orchard and a lovely ornamental lake. There is also a tennis court with all-level coaching available from an experienced national level player/coach (please book on-site on arrival). In addition, there is a dreamy new spa room offering CACI treatments which work to plump and tone the skin, as well as a bespoke massage service, both can be booked in advance of your stay. Restaurants, shops and galleries are five miles away in Falmouth and Truro and the superb north coast surfing beaches are just 20 minutes by car.
Single-storey and with level access, Fern is entered through a big utility-room/hallway where beach gear and surfboards can be off-loaded before moving into the open plan living-room. The kitchen-area is fully equipped and the sitting-area has a Smart TV with Netflix and an iPod dock so music can be streamed in every room.
Fern is part of The Emerald, an award-winning development - the only truly zero carbon holiday destination in the country having been awarded Code 6 status, the highest possible grading for eco efficiency. Within the five acres of shared grounds is a solar farm which generates all the energy The Emerald needs and more. There is also a useful Tesla charging point for electric cars at The Emerald (please bring your own adaptor for other makes). The owners politely ask that you state on arrival if you plan to take advantage of this service and to pay them via cash or bank transfer before departure.
The hi-spec, super-insulated cedar-clad houses include Fern and its semi-detached mirror-image Cedar (2824) for couples, Coast (2822) accommodating six; there is also The Gatehouse (2826), a beautiful single-storey cottage accommodating four, set slightly apart from the others so offering more privacy. Family groups or larger parties can all be accommodated by booking adjacent properties for those special occasions.
The properties (except The Gatehouse) are accessible for wheelchairs, with level thresholds, ground floor bedrooms and double-width walk-in showers.
